Junior Membership is divided
into two sections:
(a) Juniors without handicaps
(b) Juniors with maximum
handicap of 28 (boys) or 36 (girls)
Juniors without handicaps may
play the Academy course and the Championship course three hours before
sunset, only after having gained permission to do so from both the
Professional and the Junior Organiser.
Juniors with handicaps may play
on both the Hawkstone and Championship courses as well as the Academy.
The following limitations apply to juniors when playing competitive golf
on the Hawkstone and Championship courses: No two Juniors may play
together in Senior competitions without the permission of the Captain or
Junior Organiser
Competitions Handicap of 28 attained by Boys
Handicap of 36 attained by Girls
The
Junior Organiser and/or the Golf Professional will determine when a
non-handicap junior is proficient enough to be recommended for
handicapping to the Handicap Committee.
The
Junior Section meets from February to December inclusive.
Generally it meets on Saturday mornings in the months of February,
March, April, September, October and November and on Friday evenings in
the months of May, June , July and August.
Sessions include eighteen hole competitions, Academy competitions,
coaching and matchplay events. The Captain, President and Hawkstone
Park Ltd provide prizes for specific events.
There are three major
matchplay competitions: The Junior Club Championship (Scr), the Tern
Hill Trophy (H/cp), and the Junior/Senior Foursomes Championship for the
Robert Powis Cup. There is a County Junior Handicap League in which
matches are played against other Golf Clubs. There are also matches
against other sections of the Golf Club.
Junior Section Privileges and Rules
• Use of the Par 3 Academy Course - No individual
will be allowed to book more than two tee times per day unless
authorised by the Golf Professional.
• Junior members shall not be allowed to sign in
guest players.
• Juveniles may not play on either of the two 18
hole courses unless Junior status has been achieved.
• Use of the Practice Range is under the same
terms as members of Hawkstone Park Golf Club.
• Coaching: All
group coaching will be organised by the Golf Club Junior Organiser and
the Professional Staff. This is currently subsidised by the Golf
Foundation.
• Further coaching, both individual and group,
will be available at reduced rates through the Professional Staff.
• Competitions:
As authorised and organised by the Club Junior Organiser and/or the
Professional Staff.
• All Golf Club House facilities are available to
juvenile members.
• Unless otherwise stipulated juvenile members
will adhere to the same rules as junior members of Hawkstone Park Golf
Club.
